Jorge is a partner at Coronel & Pérez. He has advised clients in various industries, especially in construction and real estate projects, in complex corporate transactions involving both, private and the public sector, as well as in litigation and arbitration. He has been part of teams that have prepared expert reports in Ecuadorian law for numerous international litigation and arbitrations of great amount. He is an arbitrator of the Centro de Arbitraje y Conciliación de la Cámara de Comercio de Guayaquil.


Arbitration and Litigation

Jorge was part of the team that developed expert reports on Ecuadorian law for an arbitration under UNCITRAL regulations between a major oil company and the Republic of Ecuador.
He advised a water and sewerage service concessionaire in Guayaquil in an ICC arbitration against the municipal water and sewerage company.
He also represented a leading chemical company in more than 30 claims for damages initiated by Ecuadorian shrimp farming companies, related to litigation in the United States with a claim of one billion dollars.
Advised a consumer products company in an unfair competition case.
He worked on behalf of a mining company subsidiary of a Canadian corporation in administrative litigation initiated by a concessionaire against the Ministry of Mining.

Concessions, Public-Private Partnerships, and Infrastructure Projects

Jorge has also provided advice to the Guayaquil subsidiary of a multinational water service company during the tender process that resulted in the awarding of the concession for the potable water and sanitary and storm sewerage services of Guayaquil for 30 years.
He has advised an infrastructure corporation during the bidding process that ended with the awarding of the operation of the Guayaquil International Airport for 15 years.
