Arbitration and Litigation

Successfully represented the world's largest multinational chemical manufacturing company in Ecuadorian courts, acting as an expert witness in U.S. courts for a class-action lawsuit and over 30 related Ecuadorian lawsuits. These cases involved environmental and personal damages totaling over one trillion dollars.
Advised a major multinational consumer goods manufacturer in a multimillion-dollar lawsuit. The lawsuit was filed against a competitor for unfair competition, false advertising, and related damages.
Provided legal counsel to a Brazilian brewery in a complex multimillion-dollar case involving disputes over the ownership of trademarks and industrial designs.
Led litigation efforts for a sugar mill in a multimillion-dollar legal battle against raw material suppliers, alleging contractual breaches and fraudulent activities.
Advised and guided an agro-industrial group through litigation and restructuring negotiations aimed at preventing bankruptcy. These negotiations encompassed disputes with bank creditors, suppliers, labor conflicts, and government regulators, with financial implications in the tens of millions of dollars.
Acted as legal counsel for a national television channel in a significant multimillion-dollar contractual dispute related to the broadcasting rights of sporting events.

Represented an energy company in a CIADI arbitration against the Republic of Ecuador, with financial stakes in the tens of millions of dollars. The dispute was related to the contractual breach of an energy supply agreement with a state entity.
Advised a public water utility concessionaire in Guayaquil in a multimillion-dollar commercial arbitration against the regulatory authority, addressing tariff-related matters.
Headed the legal team in an arbitration between a real estate development company and an international religious corporation, involving a breach of contract. This was followed by a judicial challenge to the award.
